- Do not count out loud really loudly during your rests! I know there are a lot of rests in some pieces and you need to make sure you come in. But you don't need to scream out "1 2 3 4" accompanied by loud foot stomping. Get a clue!
- Try to observe the note durations (and following rests) and cut off where you are supposed to, preferably without sounding like a snake ("sssssss") or a snare drum ("tttttttt"). (After all, your loud counting will be off if you don't cut off properly.)
- Also try to watch the director - he's flailing his arms up there for a reason. If you can't watch him, listen to the organ. It's the choir equivalent of marching band following the drums.
- Handel's Hallelujah is not a race to see who can finish first! But it just may be next Friday night.
- If you aren't the director, basically, STFU. Please.
Things I would like to say to people, but a sense of propriety (usually) keeps me from doing so.
